PSYCHOMOTOR STIMULATION.
Improving the quality of life, health benefits and well-being, leisure and vital possibilities, that is our goal. For this reason, we have started a therapy that we have called “Psychomotor stimulation” and from which our patients are already benefiting.
With the “increase” in old age there is also an “increase” in its associated diseases. This increase leads to a spectacular increase in senile dementia and/or functional aging: physiological and pathological.
In recent years, becoming aware of this issue, more importance has been placed on physical education programs adapted to the elderly, with the benefits that this entails for the health and quality of life of our elders. This is how psychomotor skills appear as the physical, mental and intellectual development that occurs through movement. It must be directed by physiotherapists (among other health professionals) creating instruments, games and exercises necessary so that the individual's motor activity is normalized and, in this way, they can interact better with the environment.
Some of the objectives of psychomotor stimulation are:
- Health promotion.
– Optimize the functional independence and quality of life of the patient.
– Increased trust and security.
– Promote the motor development of the individual.
– Integration of the body scheme: knowing and being aware of our body both in movement and static.
– Master balance and control coordination.
– Work on relaxation to relieve tension and increase well-being and social relationships.
– Improve the possibilities of adaptation to the outside world.
All these aspects that make up psychomotor skills can be worked on through physiotherapy, using movement as a physical means of treatment.
With all this, with our guidelines, with our help, with our work and, of course, with yours, believe us that we will be able to achieve a notable improvement and an increase in your quality of life.
We establish this therapy in individual sessions or in work groups of 2 or 3 people maximum, after a personal interview, lasting 40 minutes and directed by our physiotherapists.
We will wait for you…
